Telemedicine is a healthcare system that enables delivery of remote health services using technology. This service helps eliminate distance barriers and improves access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in distant rural communities. It also creates a platform for healthcare providers to share experiences and educate themselves.

Telemedicine systems basically consist of the following:
  • Store-and-forward
  • Remote monitoring
  • Interactive services

The following information models represent different aspects of a basic Telemedicine Service. These models, represented in UML (Unified Modeling Language),  can be customized and extended if needed.
