This architecture illustrates (Figure-1) the whole process flow of food safety e-service system. The main purpose of this architecture is to provide the E-service for food safety controlling and alerting to the citizens. This is a very important part of the agriculture sector of the government to provide citizens with food above the foods standards and guarantee the citizens health issue.
This service provides a web/mobile-based application to the citizens, and by open the browsers the users can access the information through this interface. Users could either check a certain food safety by typing into the type and name of the food. And the application will access the database and fetch the information back through the Internet. There are many electronic sensors placed on the whole process of food production process and collects the food quality samples and stores these samples to a food sample database. And before storing to the database, samples to a certain same food will be aggregated together as a set of samples for further storing and analyzing. Then those collected data will be analyzed by agencies for tests and analyzing, and the standard it used is fetched from a food quality standard database built by government and specialized food investigation institute. Reports of the final result of each brand and type of food will be then stored in another database belongs to those Food check agencies. The information and alert presented to the users through web portal or webmail is from the Food safety eservice provider. It resolves the user request sent from the Internet by accessing the result database. The end sensors will collect the samples periodically and if anything goes wrong with certain food, the e-service provider will quickly telling all the citizens through email to ensure the their health safety.
The architecture contains several key components, they are:
Electronic sensor of food quality sample: the electronic sensor could detected the most small change in the food, for example, the flavor, the temperature etc. and change them into electronic signals containing the food quality information inside. Then the collected signals will be sent to the sample aggregator. By using such electronic devices, we do not need people to collect the samples manually, which costs time money and might not be accurate. And such sensors could be set to sense the change of the food in a continuously period of time.
Food security Testing and Analyzing Enterprise: They are a bunch of distributed agencies serving the same purpose of food security testing and analyzing but focused on a certain kind of food, for example, meat, milk or fruits. They all refers to the standard food quality database and generate the sample food quality information in the same format indicating the possible food problem with its position information and stored into the result database.
Food safety E-service provider agencies: This is a very important part of the whole e-service. It aggregates all the food safety information to the end users. And web-portal or application developers have to contact this agency in order to provide the user-friendly interface for them to access the information.
Mobile Application/ Web Portal: These are the front-end application implemented in mobile phones and computers for citizens to search for a certain food safety or to receive the immediate food security alert from the food safety eservice provider agency. The alerting message may be in text message or email.
